Chad Mendes to fight Hacran Dias

UFC featherweight contender Chad Mendes looks for his second victory in a row on December 15 when he faces Hacran Dias in Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia.
Mendes confirmed the fight on Monday via Twitter. "It's official like a referee whistle!" Mendes tweeted. "I'm fighting Hacran Dias December 15 in Australia."
Mendes steps in the Octagon for the second time since suffering a first-round knockout on January 14 to 145lb champion Jose Aldo at UFC 142. It was the first time Mendes lost a mixed martial arts fight in his 13-bout professional career.
He rebounded from that setback on July 7 with an impressive first-round knockout of Cody McKenzie. The fight announcement against Dias comes a little more than a month since Mendes was hit with a battery charge by the Kings County (California) District Attorney's Office.
The charge, which was handed down August 24, stems from an alleged physical altercation involving Mendes on July 29 at a Hanford, California, bar. Mendes is a resident of Hansford.
Dias (21-1-1) made his UFC debut on June 23 with a unanimous decision over Yuri Alcantara.
