Frank Mir has been forced to withdraw from a Strikeforce clash with Daniel Cormier scheduled for November 3, according to widespread reports.

Mir's pull-out is belived to have been provoked by an undisclosed wound picked up during preparations for the bout.

UFC's Mir put himself forward to perform for the sister company in what will be its final heavyweight bout before the division is dissolved. Many of strikeforce's big-name heavyweights have already transferred to the UFC.

There has been no announcement as to who will replace Mir in the Oklahoma event.

Cormier holds a 10-0 MMA record, while Mir was last in action during May, when he lost a UFC heavyweight title clash with Junior dos Santos.
