Vitor Belfort has paid a huge compliment to Michael Bisping ahead of UFC 152, saying the Brit is one of the old school fighters who always comes to fight.

Belfort and Bisping appear on the same card this weekend, but they will not be in direct competition after the Brazilian left the middleweight division to challenge Jon Jones for his UFC light-heavyweight belt.

Had Belfort not taken such a decision, the possibility existed that Bisping and Belfort may have been future rivals, with both among the top five middleweights in the UFC.

Regardless, Belfort is a huge admirer of Bisping, insisting he likes his attitude both inside and outside of the Octagon. According to the Phenom, Bisping ranks among the old generation as a genuine mixed martial artist for the ages.

"Bisping is a great fighter, a great warrior. He's like one of the old school guys... he's a real tough guy," Belfort told ESPN.

"Every fight he gets better, he's a great fighter, he's a good guy whenever I see him - very respectful, and I have a lot of respect for him."

Belfort is also a big fan of Dan Hardy, with whom he trained earlier in the year. Hardy is set to take on Amir Sadollah in the co-main event of UFC Nottingham and Belfort is backing the Brit.

"I like Dan Hardy a lot. Some people are fighters, and he's a fighter. I admire his spirit."
