Mauricio 'Shogun' Rua will headline UFC on Fox 4 against Brandon Vera, after Brian Stann's fight against Hector Lombard was cancelled due to injury.

Shogun was due to fight Thiago Silva on the card of UFC 149 until the Brazilian was forced to withdraw due to back problems, and was waiting for a new opponent before Vera was called up.

UFC on Fox 4, meanwhile, needed a new headline bout after Stann's injury, with Lombard eventually being switched to UFC 149 to fight Tim Boetsch after his prospective opponent, Michael Bisping, was also ruled out.

Vera is fighting for his UFC career after losing two of his last three fights - with his most recent contest against Thiago Silva only being amended from a defeat to a no-contest after Silva failed a subsequent drugs test.

Also on the card, Rani Yahya will now step in to face former featherweight contender Josh Grispi.

UFC on Fox 4 takes place in Los Angeles on August 4.
