Mike Swick will make his long-awaited return to the Octagon against DaMarques Johnson at UFC on Fox 4 in August.

Swick last fought back in February 2010, when he suffered defeat to Paulo Thiago at UFC 109, before being misdiagnosed with a stomach condition which sidelined him for an extended period of time.

He had been slated to fight David Mitchell last January, but after Mitchell pulled out with a back injury, Swick decided he was not 100% and the bout was removed from the card.

He was then forced to withdraw from an August fight with Erick Silva with a knee injury. However, Swick has now confirmed that he has verbally agreed to fight Johnson on August 4 in Los Angeles.

"Yes, I have verbally agreed to fight at UFC on Fox August 4 in Los Angeles," he posted on his Twitter page. "Not signed but well spoken."

UFC on Fox 4 will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, with middleweights Hector Lombard and Brian Stann headlining the card.
