England's Ross Pearson has calmed claims that he will coach the UK team against Australia on TUF: The Smashes, insisting he has signed nothing.

Pearson had previously expressed his willingness to take the role, if offered it by the UFC. As a former winner of a TUF season, the featherweight would seem an ideal candidate for the job.

It was reported on Tuesday that he will coach against George Sotiropoulos, but nothing has been decided as of yet.

"Right now all I'm concentrating on is June 22nd [the fight against Cub Swanson]. After that, whatever the UFC wish to do, I would be honoured to sign to be a coach," Pearson tweeted on Tuesday evening.

"On UK vs AUS #TheSmashes, it would be a great opportunity for myself to represent myself and country! But as of now I have not signed anything."

Should Pearson eventually agree to coach opposite Sotiropoulos, it would mean one competitor would have to leave his current weight class in order for the pair to fight.
