England's Ross Pearson is ready to do anything to prove he is worthy of a UFC title shot, even if it means officially welcoming Diego Brandao to the featherweight division.

Pearson was successful in his 145lb debut, defeating a tough customer in Junior Assuncao. However, the Brit is well aware that Assuncao is not a name that will fire him into title contention.

If Pearson is to book a date with reigning champion Jose Aldo he will need to "make a statement", something he believes he failed to do at UFC 141.

In truth, Assuncao never resembled the type of fighter against whom a statement can be made, due to his elusive countering style. Better battles for Pearson, stylistically, would come from fighters as prepared to trade as he is, and the Brit is more than happy to take on a fellow TUF winner.

"I was impressed with him on the show," Pearson said of Brandao to ESPN. "He looks like he comes to finish fights. If the UFC thought that was a good match-up then why not? I'm prepared to fight anyone in the division.

"Let's do it."

Pearson also speculated over the possibility of taking on the Korean Zombie Chan Sung Jung, who may prove a more likely next opponent following his triumph over Mark Hominick.

"There's a lot of good guys out there but I want to shoot straight to the top," said Pearson. "Korean Zombie is coming off a great win but I'll fight whoever the UFC give me. I just want to keep improving and evolving and I promise I will be world champion."
