British heavyweight Oli Thompson will make his UFC debut against Shawn Jordan in March at UFC on FX 2. The bout, on the undercard of Martin Kampmann v Thiago Alves, will take place in Sydney, Australia.

Thompson, a former winner of Britain's Strongest Man, has won nine of his 11 bouts since taking up the sport in 2009; his two losses came against UFC veterans Rob Broughton and Joe Vedepo.

The Brit was scheduled to face Phil de Fries at UFC 138, but injury scuppered any chance of the bout happening.

Jordan's record stands at 12-3, and he has experience of competing in the Strikeforce promotion. His most recent outing was a creditable victory over the durable Lavar Johnson.
