Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira hopes to return to action within nine months after it was revealed he does not need surgery on his broken arm.

Nogueira was submitted for the first time in his career by Frank Mir at UFC 140, succumbing to a first-round kimura. The Brazilian, more than likely out of pride, refused to tap - allowing Mir to break his arm to finish the fight.

It was first reported that Big Nog would need surgery to cure the injury, but UFC officials have since revealed that will not be the case. Nogueira received a 60-day medical suspension on Tuesday, and it is hoped he will be back in action around September 2012.
