The UFC announced on Saturday that Chael Sonnen's next opponent will be Mark Munoz on the UFC on Fox 2 card, and president Dana White later revealed Michael Bisping may also appear on the show.

Sonnen and Munoz have long been mooted for a middleweight battle, with the winner likely to face Anderson Silva. The pair once collided during their collegiate wrestling days, won by Munoz, but now they will do it for real inside the Octagon.

Reacting to the news, Sonnen tweeted: "Bisping isn't worth the time. Hey @Mark_Munoz, what do you say we give them a show? For old time's sake..."

Munoz replied: "Yes sir! I know we will give them a show! Let's show them how it's done!"

Bisping threw his name into the mix with a dominant win over Jason Miller, and is now 4-0 in his last four fights. A collision, possibly with Demian Maia, is a "possibility" for the Fox card in January.

"UFC on Fox 2 will have three headliners, we just haven't announced the other one yet," White toldMMA Fighting, having already announced Rashad Evans v Phil Davis and Sonnen v Munoz.

He was then asked, 'Are you implying Bisping may be on that card as well?', to which White replied: "It's a possibility."
