Dana White has called on Wanderlei Silva to retire despite his win over Cung Le at UFC 139.

The 35-year-old Silva claimed a knockout win over Le in a fight where both men landed savage blows.

The victory allowed Silva to exorcise the demons of his crushing defeat at the hands of Chris Leben in July, but UFC president Dana White feels the Brazilian needs to think about his health and hang up his gloves.

"I just don't want to see anyone hurt - that's all I care about," White told heavy.com. "When you get to a point - and in my opinion, I'm no doctor - you start getting knocked out on a regular (basis), that's it. I don't want to see that any more. I don't want to see it.

"I've been very clear and open and honest about it. He looked good (against Le). I'd be cool with (him walking away after the win), too. I would never try to talk somebody out of retirement. Never, ever, ever would I do that. Nope."
