Vera v Marshall, Siver v Stout official for UFC 137

Brandon Vera's second chance will take place at UFC 137, where he has been paired with Eliot Marshall in the light-heavyweight division.

Vera, who was once tipped to be one of the stars of the future in the UFC after he beat Frank Mir, was cut by the promotion after his last loss to Thiago Silva. However, Silva later failed a drug screen, so Vera was reprieved.

A third official loss, after the Silva fight was deemed a no-contest, against Marshall would surely spell the end, although Marshall also finds himself in dangerous territory. The TUF 8 participant is already into his second UFC spell after being cut following a defeat to Vladimir Matyushenko, and he is currently coming off a loss to Luiz Cane.

Dennis Siver's lightweight battle with Sam Stout has also been rubber stamped for the event, which is headlined by Georges St-Pierre's welterweight title defence against Nick Diaz. Other fights on a stacked card include Carlos Condit v BJ Penn, Cheick Kongo v Matt Mitrione, Roy Nelson v Mirko Cro Cop, and the featherweight debut of Hatsu Hioki against George Roop.
