Andy Roddick will undergo tests after suffering with exhaustion in the lead-up to the US Open.

The world No. 9 complained of feeling lethargic after he was beaten 6-3 6-3 by France's Giles Simon at the Legg Mason Tennis Classic in Washington DC and is anxious to get to the bottom of his ailment.

"I haven't been feeling well for some weeks," Roddick said. "I feel pretty lethargic and not quite as excitable as I normally am.

"Something doesn't feel quite right. Maybe it could be a vitamin deficiency. We will have to take a look at that.

"First and foremost I'm going to test for something. I'm going to get that off my plate first. I promise you I'm going to figure this out."
