Nick Kyrgios has split with coach Simon Rea - less than a fortnight after stunning Rafael Nadal and reaching the quarter-finals at Wimbledon.

The 19-year-old Australian caused a sensational upset on Centre Court at SW19 by beating world No.1 Nadal in four sets to progress to the last eight.

Now ranked at No.66 in the world having climbed from No.144, Kyrgios will be mentored by Davis Cup coach Josh Eagle as well as Canberra-based academy coach Todd Larkham.

"My desire to be at home more in Canberra, when I am not at tournaments, has driven me to make the decision for change within my team," Kyrgios said.

"Not only is Simon a great coach but he is a great person and I wish him all the best in the next phase of his coaching career."
