Heather Watson has appointed Diego Veronelli as her new coach, following her July split from Mauricio Hadad.

Since parting with Hadad, Watson had worked with Jeremy Bates throughout the US hard court campaign. However, the British No. 3 has now joined forces with Argentine Veronelli ahead of the 2014 season.

The British No. 3 endured a tough 2013 campaign, which saw her diagnosed with glandular fever in April. However, Veronelli has been working with the 21-year-old in London for the past week and the pair will travel to Australia on December 30.

Veronelli has previously coached compatriot Paula Ormaechea and Brazil's Joao Souza. Watson is currently ranked 121st in the world.
