Caroline Wozniacki's upturn in form continued with a battling three-set win over Dominika Cibulkova in the quarter-finals of the Kremlin Cup.

The former world No. 1 accepted a wildcard into the event and she has justified her inclusion by making the semi-finals. It was a victory that had its ups and downs.

Wozniacki was dominant in the opening set, hitting crisply from the back of the court and two breaks of serve helped her close out the first set at a canter.

Cibulkova was much improved in the second set and took it in a breaker, but Wozniacki - who has looked fragile under pressure this season - regrouped and broke twice in the final set to claim a 6-2 6-7(1) 6-1 win.

Wozniacki will face Sofia Arvidsson in the last four following her 6-3 6-3 win over No.7 seed Maria Kirilenko.

Sam Stosur and Ana Ivanovic will contest the second semi-final in Moscow following straight-sets wins over Klara Zakopalova and Vesna Dolonc respectively.
