Nikolay Davydenko faces four weeks in a splint after breaking his wrist

Nikolay Davydenko faces a month on the sidelines after withdrawing from the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells with a broken wrist.
The fifth seed beat Latvia's Ernests Gulbis to win his opening match on Saturday, but an MRI scan on Sunday revealed a fracture in his left wrist. The world No. 6 suffered the injury in Rotterdam last month and was forced to withdraw from the Dubai Tennis Championships and Russia's Davis Cup match against India.
He returned to Indian Wells for the first Masters event of the season, but was forced to pull out of his third-round match against Serbia's Viktor Troicki after test results showed his initial injury had been misdiagnosed.
"He has a fracture in his left wrist and he will be in a splint for the next four weeks," an ATP Tour official confirmed. Troicki will now progress straight through to the fourth round, where he will face either Tomas Berdych or Fernando Verdasco.
