Barry Hearn insists snooker is 'buzzing'

World Snooker chief Barry Hearn has defended the sport after Ronnie O'Sullivan claimed that snooker had become boring.
Three-time champion O'Sullivan claimed the 17-day World Championship in Sheffield was draining and the sport needed a newer, faster equivalent to draw the crowds, backing the new Power Snooker set to debut in London later this year.
But Hearn criticised the world No. 3 for criticising the sport that made him his fortunes.
"Ronnie must have been asleep for the past 12 months," Hearn said. "Snooker is buzzing now with new tournaments coming on stream.
"Ronnie has a laddish lifestyle and plenty of money thanks to snooker. I am staggered he has written off the tournament which made him a household name as 'boring'."
