Ronnie O'Sullivan overcame world No. 1 Neil Robertson with a thrilling 6-5 victory to reach the Champion of Champions final.

O'Sullivan made breaks of 56 and 52 but neither player could take the advantage in the opening four frames, before Robertson edged ahead by taking the fifth to lead 3-2.

However, O'Sullivan responded with three consecutive frames and breaks of 54, 70 and 103 to move within one frame of the final, but Robertson hit back with and 80 and crucial 125 to send the match into a decider.

The 'Rocket' stepped up and secured victory with a marvellous 11th-frame visit of 119 to book his place in Sunday's final, where he will face Stuart Bingham.

Earlier on Saturday, Bingham overcame Mark Selby 6-4 in their semi-final. Bingham took the opening frame with a 74 break before pulling 3-1 ahead shortly after with a visit of 73. Selby hit back with three successive frames, culminating with his highest break of 73, but Bingham ultimately proved too strong.

The Champion of Champions pits together the top 16 players in the world, who are split into four groups based on their world rankings. Each group features two semi-finals then a final, with each of the four winners of the finals going through to the semi-finals of the tournament proper.
