Scotland coach Andy Robinson has added 12 players to his squad as they prepare to take on Wales at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday.

Scotland fell short in their opening defeat to France at Murrayfield and Robinson has several selection posers ahead as he looks to inflict further damage on Wales following their opening defeat to England at Twickenham.

The 12 players will supplement the 22 on duty against Les Bleus, with medical staff monitoring bruising to Johnnie Beattie (hip), Graeme Morrison (leg), Chris Paterson (calf), Thom Evans and Nathan Hines (both calf), plus a shoulder strain to Kelly Brown.

Phil Godman endured a miserable afternoon at fly-half against the French and Robinson has duly recalled Glasgow pivots Dan Parks and Ruaridh Jackson from the wider squad as well as co-captain Mike Blair, who made his return from injury in the colours of Scotland 'A' last Friday.

Euan Murray returns to action after sitting out the defeat due to his religious beliefs and is joined by fellow forwards Dougie Hall and Jim Hamilton. Robinson has ensured that he will have plenty of firepower at his disposal as he looks to address Scotland's worrying lack of try-scoring prowess, with Simon Danielli, Nick de Luca, Ben Cairns, Nikki Walker and Rory Lamont all back with the squad.

No.8 Beattie is confident that the squad has the prowess to convert any chances that come their way this weekend, despite scoring only twice in their last six Tests.

"We did show that we can create things and if we can finish off then we'll be dangerous," he said. "It's disappointing to get off to that start but you've just got to have a 'next game' mentality, look forward to the next challenge and get back on that horse quickly and look to reverse things. It's good that it's only six days away."
