England rattled in eight tries as they whitewashed Ireland 42-0 to collect their first win of the Rugby League World Cup.

Ryan Hall landed a first half hat-trick as England opened up a 30-0 advantage after 24 minutes. Brett Feres also got on the scoresheet with a try, with Tom Briscoe scoring two tries in that devastating period for the tournament hosts.

Kallum Watkins crossed the line on 56 minutes, with Rangi Chase adding another try as England managed to prevent Ireland from getting on the board.
