Leicester and England centre Manu Tuilagi is expected to return to action in December according to Tigers head coach Matt O'Connor.
Tuilagi underwent surgery after injuring the meniscus in his left knee on the opening day of the season against Bath, the opposite knee which troubled him last season.
The Tigers had thought he would be out of action for at least 12 weeks but O'Connor insists Tuilagi's recovery is ahead of schedule.
"He is in front of schedule and ticking along brilliantly," O'Connor told the BBC. "We should see Manu in early December, hopefully."
His last cap for England came in the March 2016 victory over Wales while he was more recently sent home from an international training camp following "team culture issues".
Leicester go into this weekend's Champions Cup clash against Castres after falling to a 22-18 defeat at Racing 92 last weekend.
