Peter O'Mahony will not be risked by Munster this weekend as he closes in on a return for Ireland.

Munster back row, O'Mahony, last played against Racing 92 last month due to a hamstring injury but trained with his teammates in Limerick on Monday.

However, director of rugby Rassie Erasmus confirmed he would not feature against PRO12 leaders Ospreys on Saturday.

"He won't feature this week for us," Erasmus said.

"He's still a week away. I think he might be ready next week but it would be stupid now to push that this week."

O'Mahony is in line to be fit for Ireland's Six Nations clash with France in Dublin on Feb. 25.
