Montpellier secured a bonus-point 31-10 win at rock-bottom Oyonnax to move fifth in the Top 14 on Sunday.
Jake White's side went above Toulouse in the standings after running in four tries compared to one for their hosts, who lost two forwards to the sin bin.
Quentin Etienne opened the scoring for Oyonnax with a penalty after nine minutes before Montpellier full-back Ben Lucas went over, Demetri Catrakilis converting the score for a 7-3 lead.
The hosts then saw tighthead prop Antoine Guillamon pick up a yellow card, with Paul Willemse crossing for Montpellier's second try soon after. Catrakilis converted again to put Montpellier 14-3 ahead at the break.
Oyonnax cut the deficit through Jody Jenneker's try after the restart but Benjamin Fall soon went over for Montpellier's third.
Catrakalis kicked another penalty to make it 24-10 before replacement Bismarck du Plessis stretched the lead when he added the visitors' fourth try after 64 minutes.
