Edoardo Padovani will make his first international start when Italy face Ireland in Dublin on Saturday.

Fly-half Padovani -- one of four changes -- has been given the nod to start ahead of Kelly Haimona, who was a late replacement for Carlo Canna against Scotland two weeks ago.

Padovani, 22, replaced Haimona in that game and has won both of his two caps so far off the bench. He is joined at half-back by Guglielmo Palazzani, who replaces Edoardo Gori.

Italy coach Jacques Brunel has also been forced into two changes up front, where hooker Davide Giazzon and lock George Biagi come in.

Treviso scrum-half Alberto Lucchese could make his debut from the bench while there are also places for hooker Oliviero Fabiani, prop Dario Chistolini -- who comes in for the suspended Martin Castrogiovanni -- Quintin Geldenhuys and Abraham Steyn among the replacements.

Italy squad (to play Ireland):

Odiete, L. Sarto, Campagnaro, Garcia, Bellini, Padovani, Palazzini; Lovotti, Giazzon, Cittadini, Biagi, Fuser, Minto, Zanni, Parisse (captain).

Replacements: Fabiani, Zanusso, Chistolini, Geldenhuys, Steyn, Lucchese, Haimona, McLean.
