CARDIFF -- The Principality Stadium roof will remain open for Wales' RBS 6 Nations clash with France, after a technical problem occurred on Friday morning.

France had agreed for the roof to be closed, as it is for the majority of Wales home internationals, and although a team of engineers attended to the problem, they were unable to remedy the issue.

The Welsh Rugby Union released a statement two-and-a-half hours before kick-off stating that both teams had been informed of the situation.

It is difficult to say how proceedings on the pitch will be affected by the technical fault.

Wales like having the roof closed, and were unhappy that England decided to keep it open last year. Stuart Lancaster's side went on to win that particularly Friday night Six Nations match.
