Star fullback Leigh Halfpenny is set to spurn overtures from Wales and extend his stay with Toulon by a further year.
When Halfpenny signed for Toulon, it was on a two-year deal with the option of the third. The first part of that contract finishes at the end of the current season and Halfpenny's signature was in demand with the Scarlets, Cardiff Blues and Aviva Premiership side Wasps all interested.
But Halfpenny is set to stay a further season with Toulon as he battles back from a knee injury he suffered prior to the Rugby World Cup.
Toulon boss Bernard Laporte is quoted as saying in the Mail on Sunday: "I have spoken with Leigh and he will be here for next season. I told him I wanted him to stay and he agreed. It is good news."
Halfpenny is hopeful of returning to full fitness prior to the end of the season and may then feature on Wales' end-of-season tour of New Zealand.
