British & Irish Lions back Gavin Henson has signed a new one-year deal with Championship side Bristol.

Henson, who has 33 Wales caps, signed for Bristol in January 2015 and has penned a twelve-month extension that will see him play for the club next season. He is one of five players to re-sign for Andy Robinson's side with Chris Brooker, Ross McMillan, Jack Tovey and Jack Wallace also signing new deals.

"We're pleased to confirm the signings of the five guys and are working hard with other members of the squad, some of whom are close to completion," Robinson said. "It's important for us to show faith in the guys in the current squad and show them that we believe they have the capabilities to make us successful in the top flight, which is where we are striving to be.

"As a senior member of the squad, Gavin has shown his dedicated professionalism since joining. His displays on the field shows he is still a Premiership performer. Ross and Chris are two hookers with top flight experience and an excellent understanding of the game. Jack Tovey and Jack Wallace are young players who have shown good progress this season - we're excited to see how they develop over the next two years.

"There's a positive environment at Bristol Rugby and the players are working towards a common goal. These guys share our determination to achieve promotion and we have a lot of hard work to do before the play-offs to ensure we are in the best possible position to do so."
