Connacht sign Blues hooker
April 17, 2014
Connacht have bolstered their front row with the signing of hooker Tom McCartney on a three-year deal from Super Rugby's Blues.
McCartney previously worked with Connacht head coach Pat Lam at provincial side Auckland and will move to the Sportsground after the current New Zealand domestic season.
McCartney said: "After talking with Pat Lam, I'm really excited about the move up to Connacht to help achieve their vision. I've obviously worked under Pat before and I really enjoy his coaching philosophy. He gave me my first start for Auckland back in 2007 and really, I owe a lot of my career achievements to him from those early days."
