Bath extended their record home run to 12 league games as they edged past London Wasps 32-25 in a seven-try thriller at the Rec.

Anthony Watson strengthened his England credentials further with two tries, while Nick Abendanon and Kyle Eastmond both crossed to earn Bath a bonus point. To their credit Wasps made the game a thrilling contest, with scores from Nathan Hughes, Will Helu and Elliot Daly keeping the tie alive until the final whistle.

Bath did not look like they were feeling the absence of George Ford, away on England duty, too much, as Watson darted over on eight minutes. His second try came just before the half-hour mark and Bath looked in danger of running away with it before Hughes' response, though Abendanon had put the home side firmly in control at the break.

Wasps came out all guns blazing after the restart and went over just eight minutes in, Andrea Masi moving the ball wide to Helu, who powered over on the wing. But Eastmond struck great back after a clever break from Peter Stringer and, though Daly scored on the hour mark, Bath held firm at the death to keep within touching distance of the leading pair.

Gloucester ended a run of three successive league defeats with a 25-20 win over Harlequins at Kingsholm.

Quins were leading 13-7 at half-time after Ollie Lindsay-Hague's try and eight points from the boots of Ben Botica, cancelling out Sione Kalamafoni's early score. But the match changed direction dramatically in the second period as Kvesic drove over from close range.

Only eight minutes later Gloucester were over again, driving off the back of a scrum and sending Murphy over. Harlequins scored a late try when Dave Ward went over with Gloucester's Yann Thomas in the bin, but it was not enough for the visitors.

Sale continued Worcester's misery with a 24-12 win over the league's bottom side at Sixways.

On his 200th appearance for the club, Mark Cueto set Sale in motion after just five minutes after a super offload from Johnny Leota. Danny Cipriani kept the scoreboard kicking over as Sale stretched opened up a huge lead, before Dan Braid's try on 52 minutes put the visitors 21-0 up.

Worcester grabbed two late consolation tries through Mariano Galarza but it was too little too late as the Warriors once again failed to record their first league win of the season.
