No bueno. That should be the theme of the Raiders' latest Mexico City jaunt after being embarrassed by the Patriots at Estadio Azteca. Despite having an extra week to prepare with the bye, Oakland looked as if it just started playing football this week. Strange penalties, turnovers and lack of crisp play on defense doomed the Raiders. No bueno, indeed.

The Patriots were just flagged for their first penalty of the game -- running into the punter - with 4:45 to play in the third quarter.

The Raiders got their running game going in the first half against the Patriots, rushing for 87 yards with Marshawn Lynch going for 61 yards on nine carries. But a costly fumble by receiver Seth Roberts inside the Patriots' 10-yard line and the defense unable to slow Tom Brady & Co. negated it all.

"He shouldn't be waving the ball around like that. You've got to be hugging that ball." - Tom Flores, on Seth Roberts' fumble inside the 10-yard line with 33 seconds to play in the first half.

How cavernous is Estadio Azteca? It took 46 seconds for ‘The Wave' to make a complete loop.

The big screen implores the crowd and the Raiders defense. Alas...Patriots 14, Raiders 0, 5:23 in the second quarter.

Sean Smith got burned by Brandin Cooks for a 98-yard TD in New Orleans last year. This time, Smith gets away with a little physical play on a deep ball for Tom Brady's first incompletion of the day. Brady completed his first 12 passes.

Tom Brady joins the officials during a discussion on a penalty because...so NaVorro Bowman joins in, too.

The Patriots, after playing in Denver, stayed the week at elevation at the Air Force Academy and opened the game in Mexico City with the no-huddle, catching the Raiders on their heels. The result? A 15-play, 87-yard TD drive that saw Oakland unable to sub in and out on the defensive line, and NaVorro Bowman replaced by Nicholas Morrow and Marquel Lee in a nickel defense.

Rookie Obi Melifonwu, drafted as a tight end-stopping safety, is starting at left cornerback.

California LT Governor Gavin Newsom made the trip to Mexico City to watch the Raiders take on the Patriots.
