How you know this wasn't a normal win: Pat Shurmur went around the locker room hugging players (Eli Manning, Janoris Jenkins, Rhett Ellison and others). Shurmur also got a game ball from Manning and a second that he said will go GM Dave Gettleman who wasn't there but "is fighting his a** off for us" as he battles cancer.

Eli Manning told the Giants: "We need three but let's finish the game" on their final drive that ended with a Sterling Shepard touchdown on a third down with 2:08 remaining. It put the game away and allowed them to avoid an 0-3 start.

Evan Engram walking around with a brace on his right knee. He thinks he'll be fine but said it just "didn't feel right." He will undergo tests on Monday.

Odell Beckham with a preemptive strike after the game. "Yeah, it feels good to win," he said before even being asked a question. It had been over 600 days since he last won a game.

Saquon Barkley scored 22.7 PPR fantasy points today, giving him 20-plus in each of his first three career games. He's only the fourth player since 1950 to do that, joining Marcus Allen, Robert Griffin III and Kareem Hunt.

The Giants offense showed enough life in a 27-22 victory to give them optimism this season is salvageable. They scored 20 points in the first half and drove down the field when they needed it most late in the fourth quarter to win their first September game since 2016.

The Giants looked like a totally different offense in the first half against the Texans. They have 263 total yards. That's more than they had in the entire game against Dallas. Eli Manning with a strong first half completing 12-of-14 passes for 175 yards and a TD. Saquon Barkley rushed for 69 yards on 10 carries with a touchdown.

The Giants finally find some offensive balance. They have 39 yards rushing, 41 yards passing on their opening drive. It ends with Saquon Barkley running for a 15-yard TD and the Giants have their first lead of the year (7-3) after more than 130 minutes of action.

The Giants officially list Chad Wheeler as the starter at RT, BW Webb in for Eli Apple at CB and Lorenzo Carter in for Olivier Vernon. The inactives are: OLB Olivier Vernon (ankle) CB Eli Apple (groin) WR Kaelin Clay (ankle) QB Kyle Lauletta CB Michael Jordan S Kamrin Moore C Evan Brown

The Giants will have two new starters on the offensive line Sunday in Houston — center Jon Greco and right tackle Chad Wheeler. They will be in for a tough test against a defensive front that includes JJ Watt, Jadeveon Clowney and Whitney Mercilus who are hungry for their first sacks of the season.

Odell Beckham and the Giants are here. They need a big game from Beckham against the Texans. The Giants couldn't move the ball last week when Beckham had just two catches until the final six minutes of a loss to the Cowboys.

WR/KR Kaelin Clay (ankle) didn't travel with the team to Houston. He was downgraded to out. Don't be surprised to see Odell Beckham Jr. and Sterling Shepard on some punt returns. Cody Latimer will continue to handle kickoffs.

John Mara at Tom Coughlin's Jay Fund event says it's a long season. Not much he can say, they're 0-2 and have to do better. Mara on Eli Manning being under fire, "What else is new?"
