Vikings announce left guard Nick Easton has signed his restricted free agent tender. It comes with a $2.914 million cap hit in 2018. He's a free agent after this season.

Eric Kendricks' new 5-year, $50 million extension doesn't make him any 'hungrier' to achieve on the field but alluded to the prospective and mindset he has going forward: "I've been hungry. I just know what I want and I'm just going to work to get it. Period. "

Courtney Cronin ESPN Staff Writer

Eric Kendricks, the first of four Vikings players with contracts due in 2019 to receive an extension, said he and his agent kept in contact throughout the offseason about his pending deal: "He always told me that the Vikings wanted to keep me here and they knew I wanted to be here as well. It kind of made things easier to get done."

Courtney Cronin ESPN Staff Writer

Eric Kendricks salary cap figure will have to go up with his extension (5 years, $50 million with $25 million guaranteed, per Adam Schefter) while Anthony Barr, who is also coming due in 2019 and may be the next player in line for an extension, would see his cap number ($12.3 in 2018 -- his 5th year option) undoubtedly go down by giving him a lower base salary and turn a good bit of that money into a signing bonus to create cap room. Very likely Minnesota could layer a signing bonus on top of Kendricks' new base salary or/in addition to a roster bonus which is payable a couple of days after he signs his new deal.

The Vikings have $17,995,400 in cap room after the Kendall Wright signing, according to the daily NFLPA salary cap report. Minnesota had around $53 million entering free agency three weeks ago.

Per ESPN's roster management system, Kendall Wright's 1-year contract is worth $1 million with a $100K signing bonus, $800K base salary and $100K workout bonus. $300K of his base salary is fully guaranteed. A smart, financially-sound option for Minnesota with the expectation that Wright will grab hold of the No. 3 receiver role.
