Veteran guard Joe Berger spoke earlier about his plans after this season. Said he had planned for this year 'to be it' but will wait until March or April to decide upon retirement. "That'll be a decision I make in the off season if anybody even wants me back," he said. Berger noted that Minnesota signing RT Mike Remmers in the 2017 off season was one of the reasons he chose to come back this year.

Philly's rotation among its defensive tackles poses a challenge for the Vikings interior OL because, as Mike Zimmer pointed out, 'they come at you in waves.' Against Atlanta, Fletcher Cox played 57 snaps (90%), Timmy Jernigan played 29 and Beau Allen played 26. The good news ahead of a tough matchup? "They're similar to us defensively and they line up and do what they do and kind of what we do, too," Zimmer said. "You're going to kind of have an idea of where they're going to be. It may be a different guy that you're going against because they're changing, but they're all good and they come at you and they stay fresh. We're going to have to suck it up and play for four quarters."

Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said he is still deciding whether to make Sam Bradford or Teddy Bridgewater his No. 2 quarterback behind Case Keenum for the NFC Championship Game. Bradford was promoted to No. 2 when the playoffs began, with Bridgwater inactive. Zimmer admitted that he has considered having all three quarterbacks active this week given the magnitude of the game and the importance of the position.

Vikes' Shurmur focuses on Eagles, not future

Vikings offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur on potentially becoming a head coach soon: "We don't let things that are happening around us to distract us. And this week is no different."

Vikings injury report lists Michael Floyd as a non-participant due to an illness. Shamar Stephen missed a second straight day of practice with a knee injury. Good sign for wide receiver Adam Thielen, who was able to participate in a limited capacity after injuring his lower back on Sunday. As far as we know, Andrew Sendejo is still in concussion protocol as of Thursday afternoon, but went through his second day of limited practice.

Vikings offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur, the NFL assistant of the year by PFWA, won't touch on the reports about him being named the Giants next head coach. "There's a time and place for everything. This is not the time or the place to talk about that."

Vikings offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur didn't say much today about reports that he will be the next coach of the New York Giants. "Not the time nor the place" to talk about it, he said.

According to ESPN Stats and Info, the Vikings accumulated 3,430 yards of offense from players drafted in the 5th round or later (including undrafted players) this season, which is the most in the NFL. Most of the key pieces on offense were drafted outside of the 1st or 2nd round: Thielen=undrafted, Diggs=5th round, Murray=6th round, McKinnon=third round, Rudolph=2nd round. QB Case Keenum's passing yards are not included in that stat, but he's among the mix of players not taken in the draft (2012).
