Jaguars DT Aby Jones said he doesn't expect there to be any lingering issues between DEs Dante Fowler and Yannick Ngakoue after the multiple altercations between the two on Sunday. "It's just brothers being brothers," Jones said. "That's all pretty much [what] I can equate it to. I mean, the same passion that you saw there is the same passion they have on Sunday. There was no problem. The only problem that we had is that it wasn't in a controlled environment. We like to control everything that's on this team so that's the only problem that we had." Fowler was suspended from all team activities for the week and will return on Monday.

Jaguars coach Doug Marrone said LG Andrew Norwell (calf), DE Dawuane Smoot (foot), and DT Eli Ankou (knee) are the only players who will not practice against Minnesota on Wednesday and Thursday and play in Saturday's game. Other than the suspended Jalen Ramsey and Dante Fowler, of course.

Tempers flared Sunday at Jaguars practice when altercations broke out during and after practice, including one in which defensive ends Dante Fowler and Yannick Ngakoue twice had to be separated by teammates. It was the 11th consecutive practice in which the Jaguars were in full pads and the players have a day off on Monday before a short workout and a flight to Minnesota on Tuesday for two days of joint practices with the Vikings. Fowler and Ngakoue began arguing with each other after the practice had concluded and players were beginning to leave the practice fields. Defensive ends Calais Campbell and Carroll Phillips and defensive tackle Abry Jones separated the two players. No punches were thrown. Fowler and Ngakoue left the field surrounded by teammates but the argument flared again moments later in the outside walkway leading to the entrance to the locker room inside TIAA Bank Field. The players again had to be separated by teammates.

Play of the day from Sunday's Jaguars practice: CB A.J. Bouye made a leaping interception over WR Dede Westbrook of a Blake Bortles pass during 11-on-11 late in practice.

LG Andrew Norwell (calf), RT Jermey Parnell (knee), DE Taven Bryan (abdomen) among the Jaguars not expected to practice Sunday. Josh Wells and Will Richardson not expected to practice because of injuries either, which means the Jaguars are down three offensive tackles. Lot of of reps for William Poehls and Brandon Smith.

The Jaguars have signed CBs Kenneth Acker and Bryce Canady and cut CBs Dexter McDougle and Charlie Miller.

Quote of the day from Jaguars training camp: Coach Doug Marrone said DE Taven Bryan shouldn't be limited much longer by an abdominal injury that kept him out of last Thursday's preseason opener. "It is hard to feel someone else's pain.," Marrone said. "I just think it is something that is definitely getting better, and we feel that he will be back. Obviously, hopefully before or when we practice against Minnesota. That is what we would like."

Jaguars DE Dante Fowler Jr. (shoulder) is being taken off the PUP list and will return to practice today. Team also says DE Calais Campbell (calf) and WR Keelan Cole (foot) will return to practice. G Andrew Norwell (calf), RT Jermey Parnell (knee), DE Taven Bryan (abdominal) among the players that will not practice.

Here is Jaguars LB Telvin Smith's explanation for why he chose not to be on the field for the National Anthem prior to Thursday night's home game against New Orleans: "As a man I've got certain beliefs. This is not going to become a distraction in Jacksonville. It's not going to become a distraction for this team. I've got beliefs. I did what I did. Don't know if it's going to be every week. Can't answer if it's going to be every week. But as a man I've got to stand for something. I love my team. I'm dedicated to my teammates and that's what we're talking about. I did what I did. It was love. I hope people see it and respect it. I respect views. I love the military. Wore my Salute to Service cleats today. It's love and we're just going to move forward and move forward in the preseason."

The Jaguars traded for QB Cody Kessler in March to back up Blake Bortles and they have to feel pretty good about that move tonight. Kessler went 14 for 17 for 139 yards and a TD in the Jaguars' 24-20 loss to New Orleans. Bortles has been durable but not having the experienced Chad Henne was a bit of a gamble. This team is built to make a Super Bowl run and now they should feel a lot better if Bortles were to miss any extended time.

Rookie WR DJ Chark has one catch for 15 yards and just made a nice tackle on a punt return for a 1-yard loss just before the end of the first half. Chark was a gunner and beat his man and had a clean shot at returner Brandon Tate. Chark has been one of the standouts during camp and that was nice play in punt coverage, which makes the rookie even more valuable.

Jaguars first-team offense was efficient in its first possession of the preseason: 15 plays (six runs, nine passes) and 79 yards in 7:02, culminating in a 2-yard TD run by Blake Bortles on a bootleg. Bortles completed 6-of-9 passes for 53 yards and Leonard Fournette carried five times for 24 yards. That's without two OL starters (RT Jermey Parnell and LG Andrew Norwell). That should be it for the first-team offense.
