Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette had 13 touches in the first half but just one in the second half -- and that came with 5:46 remaining in the fourth quarter. Fournette ran for 25 yards on that play then never touched the ball again. As for whether he felt he had enough touches down the stretch, Fournette replied, "Yeah." Fournette also lined up to return kicks for the first time since his freshman season at LSU.

Jaguars coach Doug Marrone said he's not been told anything about his job status by executive VP of football ops Tom Coughlin or owner Shad Khan. “I'm just going to keep coaching as hard as I can,” he said. “I don't make that decision.” Sunday's loss to Washington was the Jaguars' ninth in the last 10 games. They're now 4-10 with games at Miami (7-7) and Houston (10-4) remaining.

Johnson leads Redskins to late scores, 16-13 win at Jaguars

Josh Johnson's first NFL start in more than seven years ended with a 16-13 victory for Washington against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, snapping the Redskins' four-game losing streak and keeping them on the fringe of the NFC playoff picture.

Westbrook returns punt for 74-yard TD (0:28)

A little late on this, but: Per ESPN Stats & info, Redskins and Jaguars combined for 151 yards in the first half, the fewest combined yards in the first half of a game since Oct. 8, 2017, when the Titans and Dolphins combined for 142 yards.

The Jaguars lead the Redskins 10-3 at the half thanks to Dede Westbrook's 74-yard punt return for a touchdown. That play accounted for nearly as much offense as either team could manage in the first half. The Jaguars (77 yards) and Redskins (76 yards) were not exactly putting on an offensive clinic thanks to some pretty pedestrian quarterback play.

RB Carlos Hyde had just 40 carries for 120 yards in six games with the Jaguars. His best day came against Pittsburgh on Nov. 18 when he ran for 44 yards on eight carries. The Jaguars traded a fifth-round pick for him in October because they wanted a physical, downhill runner while Leonard Fournette was out with a hamstring injury. He's due to make $3.25 million next year but none of it is guaranteed and there is no dead money.

Jaguars inactives: K Josh Lambo, RT Jermey Parnell, RB Carlos Hyde, WR DJ Chark, LB Martrell Spaight, DT Eli Ankou, CB Tyler Patmon. Bit of a surprise that Hyde is inactive. Team traded a fifth-round pick for him earlier this season. Jaguars must want to look at rookie RB Dave Williams. Not a good sign for Hyde in terms of his future with the team.

Veteran safety Church released by Jaguars

In a bit of a surprise, the Jacksonville Jaguars released safety Barry Church on Friday. Church was a healthy scratch in the team's last game.

Jaguars K Josh Lambo (groin) is questionable for Sunday's game against Washington. The team signed Kai Forbath on Friday as insurance and placed rookie LB Leon Jacobs (quad) on injured reserve. Forbath played with Minnesota last season and made 32-of-38 field goals.

Jaguars RT Jermey Parnell (knee) is out for Sunday's game against Washington. The Jaguars will be adding OT Josh Wells to the active roster today later today and he would start in place of Parnell, which would leave RG A.J. Cann as the team's only first-team offensive lineman on the field against the Redskins.

Ramsey: If Jaguars want me, start negotiating

Jaguars defensive back Jalen Ramsey says that if the team is sincere about wanting him around, they should start negotiating a new contract this offseason.

Michael DiRocco ESPN Staff Writer

Jaguars WR DJ Chark (quad), LB Leon Jacobs (quad), RT Jermey Parnell (knee) did not practice on Wednesday. Coach Doug Marrone said Josh Wells could come off IR and replace Parnell in the starting lineup if Parnell is unable to play against Washington on Sunday.

Michael DiRocco ESPN Staff Writer

Jaguars coach Doug Marrone says RT Jermey Parnell (knee) is "pretty banged up." That means the Jaguars could have only one starting offensive lineman on the field for Sunday's game against Washington.
