Packers' McCarthy: Focused on 2018 season

Packers coach Mike McCarthy was asked Friday if he's concerned about his future a day after his team dropped to 4-5-1 for the season, including 0-5 on the road.

Rob Demovsky ESPN Staff Writer

"My first reaction was to go for it," Mike McCarthy said of the decision to punt on fourth-and-2 with 4:20 left. But he said a three-and-out on defense would've given Aaron Rodgers the ball back with about 2 minutes left.

Rob Demovsky ESPN Staff Writer

Mike McCarthy, for one of the first times in his 13-year tenure, is asked about his job security. "I'm focused on what's in front of us," McCarthy said. "We have a 2018 commitment and that's all I've ever focused on. "That's the job. That's the way this business has gone. That's part of the job responsibility. We set standard here the past 12 years and it's our responsibility to play to that standard."

Mike McCarthy said he doesn't have the exact injury to Jimmy Graham's thumb and did not say whether or not it was broken, but it sounds like it could be an issue going forward.

Robert Tonyan made one of the plays of the game – a 54-yard touchdown on his first career catch – yet he only played three snaps the entire game, even after Jimmy Graham left with a thumb injury. Instead, the Packers went with Lance Kendricks in the second half after Graham left the game. Here's the playing-time breakdown on offense from Thursday's 27-24 loss at Seattle.

Kyler Fackrell posted his second three-sack game of the season, making him the first Packers player with multiple three-sack games in the same season since Clay Matthews in 2010. Fackrell, who had only five sacks in his first two seasons, now has eight sacks through 10 games this season. Here's the playing-time breakdown on defense from Thursday's 27-24 loss at Seattle.

What to make of Aaron Rodgers' season? His numbers — 19 TDs and just one INT — are eye catching. But he has the most TDs with zero or one INT AND a losing record (4-5-1) of any QB in the Super Bowl era, per ESPN Stats & Information.

Tom Crabtree joins Pack Attack

Former Packers tight end Tom Crabtree joins Homer to share his thoughts following the team's loss to the Seahawks in Seattle.

Rob Demovsky ESPN Staff Writer

It took some prompting but Aaron Rodgers said "of course there's hope" left for this season but said "it's just going to take one galvanizing moment ... something's got to get this going."

Rob Demovsky ESPN Staff Writer

Mike McCarthy said he "definitely" considered going for it on fourth-and-2 but with a timeout plus the 2-minute warning he said "we played the numbers."
