Giovani Bernard was a full participant in Thursday's practice, which is a good sign considering he's next man up with Joe Mixon out. Bobby Hart (illness) didn't practice. Preston Brown and Michael Johnson were limited. Thomas Rawls, Cody Core, Tyler Eifert and Tony McRae were full participants.

Bengals RB Joe Mixon (knee) and C Billy Price (foot) did not practice. Limited: LB Preston Brown (ankle), DE Michael Johnson (knee), RB Giovani Bernard (knee), CB Tony McRae (knee) and RB Thomas Rawls (cramps). Rawls was just signed today. Cody Core (back) and Tyler Eifert (back) were full participants.

Bengals RB Giovani Bernard appeared on the injury report this week with a knee injury. He was limited in Wednesday's practice. The fact that he practiced is a good sign, but it's not ideal to see him on the injury report considering the Bengals are already down two RBs with Joe Mixon out and Tra Carson waived today.

Bengals RB Mixon has 'slight tear' of meniscus

Bengals RB Joe Mixon joked that he'd like to run already after having a knee procedure Saturday, but he'll return "as soon as I feel any type of comfortability."

Bengals C Billy Price said it took almost a week to diagnosis his foot injury, which was frustrating. Initially they thought it was an ankle injury. He said there was no swelling, and he was walking around in a boot that had something attached called SAM. According to the product's website, it is an "FDA-cleared bio-regenerative medical device that reduces the pain associated with tendon, ligament or muscle injuries and also accelerates the natural healing cascade."

The Bengals signed kicker Randy Bullock to a two-year contract extension today. Bullock chatted with reporters yesterday about some of the low points of career as a kicking journeyman when he was bouncing from team to team. He said he really felt like this organization had trust in him, and they showed it on Tuesday.

Bengals coach Marvin Lewis said Joe Mixon's knee issue was a flare up from an old injury. He compared it to having nail in your tire or a rock in your shoe. He said if he didn't play running back it probably wouldn't be something they needed to deal with right now.

Bengals CB Dre Kirkpatrick is still waiting for his own turnover to come after seeing his teammates be successful. He shook his head and jokingly held out his hands. "These things are broke," he said. Kirkpatrick spent the weekend visiting his dad, who is recovering from a knee replacement, and prayed over it, hoping it will come next week. Even though he made a joke, he clearly didn't think it was very funny. "I've got to make those balls. They touched my gloves. They hit me dead in the hands," he said. "There's no way I should've dropped those balls. But it happens."

The Bengals rank third in the NFL in turnover differential at + 3 with five takeaways (three interceptions, two forced fumbles). Jessie Bates, Shawn Williams and Preston Brown each have an interception. Clayton Fejedelem and Williams have forced a fumble. The Bengals only had 14 total turnovers all of last year and were one of the worst teams in turnover differential.

The procedure to remove a small particle in Bengals' RB Joe Mixon's knee was done Saturday morning and went well, according to a source. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Mixon is expected to be sidelined for two weeks. The Bengals travel to play the Panthers next Sunday.

Source: Bengals' Mixon (knee) to miss 2 weeks

Bengals RB Joe Mixon is expected to be sidelined for two weeks after having a procedure Saturday to remove a small particle in his knee, a source told ESPN.

Bengals coach Marvin Lewis described center Billy Price's foot issue as a strain. Price waved his arms around while walking off the field following the injury to pump the crowd up, which made Lewis initially think the injury wasn't something that would keep him out of the game. "He seemed to be OK and I was surprised he couldn't come back in a emergency situation last night, but they felt it was best he didn't do that," Lewis said." Lewis said Price and Michael Johnson's injuries (knee) are not considered season ending. "It's just a matter of how quickly they heal," Lewis said. "We've got a little bit longer time until our next game and both guys will get an opportunity to see how they come back."

Bengals running back Joe Mixon described his knee injury as "some weird tweak." Mixon played only 51 percent of the offensive snaps against the Ravens while coming in and out of the game due to the injury. He still carried the ball 21 times for 84 yards in the Bengals' win. "He said something was bothering him in his knee after the long play on the goal line," said Bengals coach Marvin Lewis. "We've got a little time for all these guys. We'll see how they come back."
