Lillard's layup after Suns turnover gives Portland victory

Damian Lillard scored 40 points, the last two on a driving, left-handed layup with nine-tenths of a second to play, and the Portland Trail Blazers rallied from 15 down in the final 7 1/2 minutes to beat Phoenix 106-104, the Suns' ninth straight loss.

The Phoenix Suns led the Portland Trail Blazers 93-78 with 7:26 left to play. But Portland All-Star PG Damian Lillard capped a 28-11 run with a driving layup with 0.9 seconds left to give the Trail Blazers a 106-104 comeback win. Lillard finished with his first career 40-point, 10-rebound game, and Portland moved a half-game ahead of Denver and Oklahoma City for 5th place in the Western Conference at 34-26.

Williams, Clippers rout sinking Suns 128-117

Super-sub Lou Williams had 35 points in 33 minutes -- including a 23-point second quarter, Los Angeles scored the first 19 of the game and the Clippers handed the staggering Phoenix Suns their eighth loss in a row, 128-117 on Friday night.
