Pels' Davis torches top D again, drops 44 on OKC

The Pelicans' Anthony Davis dominated the Thunder's league-best defense, scoring 44 points on 16-of-32 shooting to go with 18 rebounds in a 118-114 win Wednesday night.

The Thunder had a chance to win or tie, and ran a pretty good set with a two-man game between Russell Westbrook and Paul George. Westbrook got downhill and drew up, kicked to an open Alex Abrines for 3 who misses a go-ahead 3 as the Pelicans hang on to beat OKC.

Anthony Davis is just too much for OKC's bigs to handle. Steven Adams has the size, but not the quickness. Jerami Grant is athletic, but not big enough. And Patrick Patterson is, well.

After checking out, Anthony Davis went back to the Pelicans locker room. He dealt with a hip injury recently, but wasn't really limping or anything, though.

Final: Celtics 113, Pelicans 100. Anthony Davis goes for 41, but the Celtics get their sixth straight win — despite having five guys out injured. Marcus Morris led the way with 30 points.

Robert Williams has shown tonight why he was a potential top 10 talent in the draft each of the past two years. Really impressive showing against one of the league's best players tonight.

Anthony Davis, who was questionable to play with a right hip contusion, is not moving around well. He's taken a few hard falls in this game, and has gotten up slowly more than once.

Marcus Morris remains red hot, as he has been all season, going 3-6 from 3 and scoring 22 points to lead Boston so far tonight. The rest of the Celtics, though, are an ice-cold 2-for-22 from 3.

Davis turns in impressive first half with 18 points (1:09)
