The European Allstars suffered last-gasp Duel in the Pool heartbreak as Team USA pipped a dramatic tie-breaker to clinch victory in Glasgow.

Both teams were tied on 131 points after 30 events and a mixed-relay race was needed to determine the outright winner.

Michael Jamieson, who had to have his heart restarted after a training session in November, helped the European team into a 68-54 overnight lead, but could not replicate his Friday heroics in the 100 metres event.

The Allstars built on their lead but Team USA, who are unbeaten in two previous meetings with Europe, soon fought back before taking the mixed-relay to go back with the trophy.

"I'm really happy with my swim tonight," Jamieson said. "That's 0.3 [seconds] faster than my time at the Europeans last week, which is a new British record, so I'm delighted.

"I don't have the speed that those other guys have over 100m and can't match those tall guys over the front half. But the atmosphere was amazing again and it's so good to have so many people here and this kind of coverage."
