Found this interesting. Kevin Willard said Seton Hall tried out four different press offenses in the week leading up to this VCU game -- and he didn't like any of them. Decided to go back to what they usually do against pressure. (Clearly it worked just fine.)
FINAL: Seton Hall 90, VCU 67 Seton Hall was clicking offensively, especially in the second half. They have three guys who can consistently get their own shot or create off the dribble, plus Angel Delgado down low. No letdown game after winning at Louisville on Sunday.
Seton Hall has turned this into a rout in the second half. Pirates have five guys with between 12 and 17 points, shooting nearly 68 percent since halftime. VCU just can't stop them from scoring inside.
Really strong second half for Desi Rodriguez so far. Six points, two rebounds, three assists in five minutes. There's no prayer of stopping him once he gets going downhill to his left.
Seton Hall consistently went to the rim in the first half -- and that 13-point lead over VCU could have been bigger if they didn't miss a bunch of easy shots in the lane. Both teams are tough, aggressive, fearless.
Myles Powell gives Seton Hall another dimension offensively, replacing Madison Jones in the starting lineup from last season. Can get hot in a hurry from 3-point range, but has also improved his playmaking this season.
