Michael Karpus, a former UTEP student who authorities say received wagers from basketball players at the school, was sentenced to three years of probation for his role in a gambling operation.

The Racers ripped the Miners and will advance to take on Tulsa in the second round of the NIT tournament. Jarvis Williams, who put the exclamation on the win with this slam, scored a game-high 25 and T.J. Sapp chipped in 21 to lead Murray State.
