URI's Hurley not talking job future after defeat

Rhode Island coach Dan Hurley, who sources say is the front-runner for the UConn job, had no interest in addressing speculation about potential openings after his team's loss to Duke, saying, "I could give a crap about who's got an opening anywhere."

Duke completely overwhelmed Rhode Island, using its size and talent to its advantage to make it to the Sweet Sixteen. The Rams had no answers for Marvin Bagley III, who had his way in the paint all day and finished with a team-high 22 points.

Quite a way to start the tournament.

You can fault Oklahoma for not giving it to Trae Young in two of those late possessions in regulation. But the Sooners played excellent defense against Rhode Island in the final minute. A lot of ball screen action that worked early failed for the Rams down the stretch. A couple of late misses at the rim for Rhode Island. But Oklahoma's pressure was a factor.

John Gasaway ESPN Insider

Trae Young is struggling to find the range in the second half against Rhode Island. The freshman is 0-of-3 from beyond the arc and 0-of-4 overall since the break, as URI's made its run and taken the lead.

Just a few months ago Oklahoma was considered one of the best teams in the nation. Now the Sooners are underdogs in their first NCAA tournament game.
