FINAL: Michigan 61, Montana 47. Wolverines didn't look very crisp offensively early after the layoff, but they really guarded and Montana cooled off considerably after starting off with a 10-0 lead. Michigan's defense vs. Houston's Rob Gray is going to be fun.

Jeff Borzello ESPN Staff Writer

Montana scored 10 points in the first four minutes of the game. They've scored 28 points in the 32 minutes since then, including 10 points in the last 16 minutes.

Jamar Akoh made a layup 36 seconds into the second half. Montana hasn't scored in the eight minutes since that basket.

Michigan up three on Montana at the half. Wolverines had trouble early, got in a 10-0 hole, lost Zavier Simpson for the final 16 minutes of the half due to foul trouble. 12 and 7 for Charles Matthews. Former Oregon transfer Ahmaad Rorie playing well for Montana. 10-5-2.

Jeff Borzello ESPN Staff Writer

Michigan has made nine of its last 14 shots from the field. Wolverines have adjusted well to Montana's early trap. Looked rattled early. Now finding space in the middle and then Charles Matthews slashing to the rim/along the baseline.

Jeff Borzello ESPN Staff Writer

Michigan's Jaaron Simmons has already played his most minutes in a month tonight. Zavier Simpson only played four minutes before being benched with two fouls. Simmons came in and has scored six points, hasn't turned it over.

So...Montana is up 9-0 on Michigan and going to the free-throw line. Wolverines with three turnovers and four missed shots in the opening four minutes.
