The hosts picked themselves up from their heartbreaking semi-final defeat to Argentina on Wednesday to secure a convincing 3-1 win over surprise semi-finalists New Zealand.

After a scoreless first half, goals from Alex Danson, Crista Cullen and Sarah Thomas put Britain in the driving seat before Stacey Michelsen scored a late consolation for New Zealand.

Argentina, who beat GB in the semi-finals, were forced to settle for silver after they were beaten 2-0 by defending champions Netherlands.
