Ricciardo roars down the radio as Christian Horner says: "Absolutely amazing! Sensational You deserve that buddy, well done." What a revelation the Australian is proving to be. That middle stint was crucial, it kept him in contention when he knew another soft tyre stint was still to come.

Hats off to Fernando Alonso as well. As if anyone needed any reminding, the man is pretty good.

Hamilton congratulates Ricciardo backstage but its all pretty quiet down there. Alonso also shakes his hand, not much being said between Alonso and Hamilton.

Ricciardo beats his chest in parc ferme and laps up the adulation of the Red Bull mechanics.

"Nice work Lewis," says Peter Bonnington to Lewis Hamilton. I wonder how that team order stuff will play out but it turned out to be the right decision, if Hamilton had let Rosberg through, he would have finished fourth, not third.

Lap 70

Ricciardo begins the final lap and Rosberg is just 1.5 seconds behind Hamilton. Hamilton launches on Alonso but can't get by, Rosberg all over the back of him but Hamilton forces him wide at Turn 2!

Surely now Hamilton needs to focus on holding on to third. Alonso can crawl home with these two guys fighting it out.

Daniel Ricciardo wins a sensational Hungarian Grand Prix

Alonso second! Hamilton clings on for third and Rosberg has to settle for fourth.

What. A. Race. Absolutely supreme driving from all four of those guys.

Lap 69

Alonso, who pitted on lap 39, may finally have lost his tyres but Hamilton can't get close enough still! He's all over the back of him and with two laps behind him Rosberg is right up in Hamilton's mirrors, 1.5s behind his team-mate.

"My tyres are dead, guys" says Hamilton. Rosberg has grip behind both of them...

Lap 68

Rosberg now eight seconds down on Hamilton. Ricciardo launches it down the inside of Alonso and he makes it stick! Wonderful lap from Ricciardo, jumping from third to first. Superb racing from the Australian.

Hamilton now all over the back of Alonso, who got out of position and looks to be struggling with grip. Alonso clinging on for dear life and somehow stays ahead of Hamilton through the penultimate corner.

Lap 67

Hamilton now being told how to defend this position.

Hamilton slow again out of Turn 1 and once again forces Ricciardo wide through Turn 2 but Ricciardo gets past him at the start of the hill! Now he has Alonso in his sights.

Ricciardo went wide through Turn 2 but his superior traction meant he was able to swing by Hamilton and now we have Alonso v Ricciardo part two!

This all means Rosberg will come up behind Hamilton in a few laps time.

Lap 66

Five laps remaining and once again Hamilton is not close enough to get past Alonso. Surely, surely Alonso does not have enough to win this race? What a story it would be if he could.

Hamilton locks up through Turn 2 and Ricciardo closes right up, but not close enough. Hamilton in the unenviable position of needing to attack and defend during the same lap. Alonso in front can just think about defending, Ricciardo about attacking.
