AP McCoy passed former boss Martin Pipe's record after riding It's A Gimme to victory at Market Rasen for his 4,192nd career win.

The favourite held off Lost Legend, ridden by Richie McLernon, to win the Summer Plate with Mazuri Cowboy third.

"The record was just a personal thing between us and I will be putting in a satisfying call tonight," said McCoy, who equalled Pipe's tally of 4,191 wins with On The Record at Uttoxeter on Wednesday.

"We've had a bit of banter pretty much since I've ridden my 4,000th winner."

AP McCoy further established himself as the most decorated jump jockey in Britain after claiming a historic milestone 4,000th career win at Towcester in November.

"He's an inspiration to all the jockeys and to everyone in racing," said Pipe. "Now he's finally beaten me and all of us in racing are so proud of him for doing it."
