Epsom Derby winner Australia eased to victory in the Irish Derby as Aiden O'Brien picked up a clean sweep at the Curragh.

Kingfisher and Orchestra, also of trainer O'Brien's Ballydoyle stable, finished second and third.

Australia, ridden by O'Brien's son Joseph, is a son of 2001 Derby winner Galileo and 2004 Epsom Oaks victor Ouija Board.

"It was an armchair ride. I just had to make sure I didn't fall off," said the jockey after his two-and-a-half length victory. "We still haven't seen the best of this horse."

Australia was 1-8 favourite after the race was reduced to just five runners thanks to late withdrawals from Epsom runner-up Kingston Hill and the winner's stablemate, Geoffrey Chaucer.
