Dettori cleared to race again after drugs ban
Frankie Dettori has been given the all clear to race again by the France Galop, following the Italian's six-month suspension after testing positive for cocaine.
Dettori was poised to return to the saddle following his drugs ban and had been riding out regularly for Irish trainer Aidan O'Brien.
The British Horseracing Authority stated it was waiting for Dettori to be given clearance to ride again by the French authority, and are now set to reissue the 42-year-old's jockey licence.
Dettori was banned for six months by the French Galop after testing positive for cocaine at Longchamp in September, which was reciprocated by the BHA.
The three-time Champion Jockey was looking to return to the saddle at Leicester earlier in May, but complications arose when further testing by French Galop produced an "irregularity".
On Tuesday, Dettori had met with the governing body's medical committee to discuss a "private matter".
Despite being cleared to return, Dettori will not be riding in the upcoming Derby, with his name not featuring alongside the 12 declared runners for the Epsom classic.
