No Dettori ride in the Derby
Frankie Dettori will not be riding in the Derby, with his name not featuring alongside the 12 declared runners for the Epsom classic.
The Italian is poised to return to the saddle following his drugs ban and had been riding out regularly for Irish trainer Aidan O'Brien, which raised the prospect of Dettori riding in the Derby.
However, a wrangle over the return of his licence delayed Dettori's return and his name has not been placed alongside any of O'Brien's five runners in the race.
Jim Bolger's Dawn Approach, brilliant winner of the 2000 Guineas, spearheads the 12 runners as he bids to give Godolphin another classic win.
Of the O'Brien runners, Battle Of Marengo would appear to be the main hope and he will be ridden by the trainer's son Joseph.
Ruler Of The World will be partnered by Ryan Moore, with Richard Hughes on Mars, Seamie Heffernan aboard Festive Cheer and Colm O'Donoghue taking the reins on Flying The Flag.
Andre Fabre, who saddled Pour Moi to victory two years ago, relies on the unbeaten Ocovango, while Chopin flies the flag for Germany.
Elaine Burke's Libertarian is the leading British-trained contender after his win in the Dante at York. Galileo Rock, Mirsaale and Ocean Applause complete the field.
