Tom George has confirmed Mail de Bievre has been supplemented for the Queen Mother Champion Chase at the Cheltenham Festival on Wednesday.

The eight-year-old raced keenly to finish fifth in the Denman Chase at Newbury last month, finishing 25 lengths behind winner Silviniaco Conti, but George believes the drop to two miles will suit the gelding.

George tweeted: "Mail de Bievre has been supplemented for the Champion Chase. The drop back in trip should be to his advantage making use of his long stride and jumping."

Slad-based trainer George wrote: "He has delighted us with his work since his reappearance at Newbury last month."

Ten entries have been confirmed for Wednesday's highlight after connections of Mail de Bievre paid £17,500 to add him to the list.

The highly fancied Nicky Henderson-trained Sprinter Sacre, unbeaten in seven chase starts, leads the betting whilst last year's winner Finian's Rainbow, also of Henderson's stable, is in the mix.

Sizing Europe, winner of the 2011 Chase for Henry de Bromhead, is 5/1 with bet365 to retain his crown and Sanctuaire, well beaten by Sprinter Sacre in the Tingle Creek, represents Champion trainer Paul Nicholls.
